Podcast Marketer – Do you have love podcasts – we do too! If you have expertise in creating and promoting podcasts, put your skills and knowledge to good use helping Odyssey Theatre market its first ever podcast series in early 2021. You can help Odyssey reach new audiences across Canada and internationally.
Webinar Marketer – Do you have a passion for theatre? Like, really love theatre? Join our Marketing Team and help us develop and implement a marketing plan for Odyssey’s first ever webinar series, CommediaTalks. Coming out in 2021, it will explore the richness of Commedia dell’Arte and masked-based theatre. We need you to help spread the word to theatre practitioners and lovers across Canada and internationally.
Media relations – If you have a background in media or journalism and want to apply your expertise in a new and creative field, volunteer with our Marketing Team. You can develop strategies to expand year round media coverage of Odyssey Theatre particularly our new online programs. You will help us develop and pitch story ideas, contact media outlets, write articles organize interviews and more to help us grow awareness of our work, across the country.
Social Media Expert – If you love social media, we would like to work with to continue to improve and expand our digital footprint. If you have expertise across different platforms, you could help us review and evaluate our social media presence, conduct analytics to help us better understand our audiences, look for exciting and creative ways to engage the public and reach new audiences online, not just in Ottawa but across Canada and internationally.

HOW WILL YOU BENEFIT?
As a member of our Marketing Group, you will join a dynamic and diverse team of volunteers from the community with a passion for marketing and to help the arts in Ottawa thrive. You will be able to learn and refine your skills in marketing and communications from other volunteers and staff.
You will expand your knowledge of theatre and your interest in the performing arts. You will have the opportunity to attend performances, rehearsals, workshops of new plays and other events and to interact with professional theatre artists. You will meet new people as part of a committed team working in a positive environment to assist local artists. Most of all, you will be helping grow the arts in our city and make Ottawa a more vibrant and dynamic city.
HOW WILL ODYSSEY BENEFIT?
Volunteers are critical to Odyssey’s success. As a non-profit, charitable organization, we depend on help from the community to produce top quality theatre. Our volunteers augment our capacity and provide valuable skills and expertise to the Artistic Director, General Manager and Board of Directors. Volunteers help the Theatre undertake projects and activities that we would be unable to complete on our own. Volunteers help build community support and public awareness of our work and raise the resources needed to create and perform excellent theatre for the residents of Ottawa.
