INDIVIDUAL GIVING
Odyssey Theatre is a registered charity (CRA charitable registration #: 11907 1140 RR0001). All donors will receive an official receipt for income tax purposes for donations over $20.

It’s easy to support Odyssey Theatre. Please consider giving a gift by one of the four convenient ways.
1. Online. Consider donating a one-time or reoccurring gift on our online donation page operated by the not-for-profit, Canada Helps.
2. By Phone. During business hours, please call our office at 613-232-8407 and we will happily assist you to make your donation by credit card.
3. By Mail or Email. You may email your gift amount and payment information to admin@odysseytheatre.ca, or mail a cheque payable to Odyssey Theatre to our office at: 2 Daly Avenue, Ottawa ON, K1N 6E2.
4. United Way Campaign. You may also donate to us by entering our Charitable Registration Number (11907 1140 RR0001) in the Registered Charity Number section of the United Way Campaign donation form.

1) The Stuart Conger Endowment Fund
Contribute to the Stuart Conger Endowment Fund to support Odyssey’s important long-term projects including touring and developing the theatre facility at Strathcona Park. The Fund, named after former Odyssey board member and important patron of the arts in Ottawa, is managed by the Ontario Arts Foundation to provide a source of funding for Odyssey’s future growth and development.
2) Tribute Gifts
A gift to Odyssey Theatre is a fitting tribute to those in your life for whom adventure and the magic of the stage have special significance. Consider giving a gift on behalf of a friend or family member to Odyssey Theatre to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and life’s many milestones.
If you make your donation by phone, mail or email, please tell us the name of the person in whose honour your gift is made, and we will send him or her a personalized thank you card to celebrate their special day.
A gift in celebration of the life of a loved one is a brilliant way of memorializing a life well lived. Odyssey Theatre is pleased to accept gifts on behalf of theatre-lovers as a lasting tribute to their character.
3) Gifts of Securities
Did you know that you can supercharge your charitable tax benefit by giving a gift of stocks or shares? Odyssey Theatre accepts publicly traded securities such as:
- shares, debt obligations or rights listed on designated stock exchanges in Canada and internationally;
- shares of capital stock of a mutual fund corporation; and
- units of a mutual fund trust.
With a gift of any of the securities listed above, Odyssey Theatre receives the full market value of the investment and you receive an additional tax benefit.
How does it Work? When a security (such as a share or stock) is sold, the investor must usually pay income tax on half of any increase in the security’s value as a tax on a capital gain. However, if the security is donated to Odyssey Theatre, the donor does not have to pay capital gains tax – but still receives a charitable tax receipt based on the full appreciated value of the security.
4) Legacy Giving
Leaving a gift to Odyssey Theatre in your Will is an extraordinary way to leave a lasting contribution to the Ottawa artistic community. Odyssey Theatre gratefully accepts bequests or residuary gifts in Wills, Registered Plans (such as RRSPs, TFSAs or RRIFs) and life insurance policies. Legacy giving allows our donors to fund transformational gifts of great importance to Odyssey Theatre and enjoy tax benefits without placing strain on their finances.
