Mask Making Competition Fundraiser

Calling all crafters, makers, artists, and art enthusiasts!

In celebration of our 35th season, Odyssey Theatre is launching our first ever virtual fundraiser. We appreciate your support and need your help to make this a success!

Masks have been an integral part of our award-winning productions since our founding in 1986. Now we want to see your imagination come to life with your very own mask creations.

You can support Odyssey Theatre by designing and making your very own masquerade mask. Every entry into the contest raises money for innovative productions and creative new plays.
There are 4 categories of entry, each category has an amazing prize sponsor – you could win one of our fabulous prizes! Learn more about the contest by listening to our interview with CBC’s Alan Neal on All in a Day here.

How it works:

  1. Purchase your entry into the competition through our ticketing site
  2. Get to work on your mask
  3. Submit your entry via a link that will be emailed to you upon registration
  4. Your mask will be judged by our panel of mask experts and there will be one winner in each category + one People’s Choice winner to be voted on by the public
  5. Once the People’s Choice competition opens, share our post with your friends and family to get the most votes and win!

Why support Odyssey Theatre:

Odyssey Theatre is a professional mask and movement-based theatre in Ottawa celebrating its 35th season. It also supports local and Canadian artists, the development of new plays and outreach for youth in our community. Even when the pandemic hit, Odyssey was excited to launch A Virtual Odyssey — a rich online series making professional theatre available to everyone and providing support to our artists. Like all non-profit arts companies, Odyssey relies on generous community support to continue offering its programs.
