Silvia Character Sketch

characterA young lady of society. Beautiful, graceful, independent and modern – with a dash of shyness mixed in. Secretly, she desperately seeks love and an honest companion in her life, but is justifiably wary of the duplicitous nature of some of the men she has observed and been courted by.

What does Silvia mean to me? Well I love her, her drive, her desire for independence, especially considering where and when we’re setting the show. It was a very exciting time in Paris, and she’s very much a woman of that time. In the sense that things were really changing, it was before any of the World Wars and it was a time of real optimism. I think she’s a woman I relate to, because she’s a woman who believes she can have anything she wants. She’s willing to fight for it and I think that that’s a wonderful heart to have. That’s what I connect to really strongly – she’s really incredibly passionate and sometimes it works against her- but- that’s why I  like her and that’s how she’s similar to me. She’s kind of got this faith in herself that even if  it is shaken to the core, she’s still willing to be driven to achieve her own goals.
